What's the twist?

What has the BROADEST APPEAL?

There is nothing wrong with writing a niche book. But marketing a niche book, as a niche book, is damn hard. So if you can find the widest possible marketing device for your book, you're much more likely to find readers who like it.

HOMEWORK: From the list of tropes you’ve jotted down, which have the widest appeal to the readers of the genre you've picked?

Bonus points if you can actually work up a high-concept pitch for a book to-be-written, but that might take a few days. Right now, I just want you to start thinking about this as you refine the series set-up, world and cast.
